My Dad Wrote a Porno is a comedic podcast where a man and his two friends read and review (chapter by chapter) a series of erotic novels his dad penned.
My Dad Wrote a Porno is the aptly named podcast where television writer Jamie Morton reads and reviews an erotic novel that his father penned under the name Rocky Flinstone. Each episode focuses on a single chapter. Morton hosts the podcast with two of his friends James Cooper and Alice Levine. The format sees Morton typically reading the chapter beforehand, while Cooper and Levine will be hearing it for the first time when Morton reads it aloud on the podcast. The three of them then review and disect the chapter in the erotic novel from the series entitled “Belinda Blinked” all of which was of course WRITTEN BY MORTON’S FATHER.
“Belinda Blinked” was and is a real erotic novel, published and all, which luckily for MDWAP, grew into a series, providing endless amounts of content for this podcast. Jamie Morton started recording this podcast after his dad pulled him aside at a holiday dinner to share a few chapters from a book he had been writing. He had been writing it under the name “Rocky Flinstone” and he had been writing it in his shed because his wife, Morton’s mother, would not allow it in the house. After a quick read-through Morton realized that his dad was in fact “writing a porno”. It all sounds made up. It apparently isn’t.
All of this makes for a hilarious format and equally hilarious material. A lot of the funniest parts of this podcast, wouldn’t strike the same chord if you weren’t hyper aware that his dad wrote this. As with most successful comedic podcasts, the content is hilarious but the theme and the format are too which is what makes it great.
If you're looking for a new comedy podcast to check out, we definitely recommend My Dad Wrote a Porno.
