NPR's Up First is the news you need to start your day. The three biggest stories of the day, with reporting and analysis from NPR News — in 10 minutes.
An NPR series, Up First is a podcast that brings listeners the top three stories of the day, everyday. One thing that I really love about this podcast is how short and concise it is. Every episode is under 15 minutes, that’s three stories in 15 minutes - they have truly perfected how to pick out the key pieces in a discussion to provide value to listeners quickly. There are four hosts for this series: Rachel Martin, Noel King, David Greene and Steve Inskeep. The four hosts will rotate throughout episodes and stories, but it is never a discussion between hosts.
The hosts will introduce the stories that listeners will be hearing about throughout the episode and then they dive into each story. Each story will bring on a guest expert that will go deeper to give some context and more in-depth information for the listeners. This is a great series to listen to if you’re just looking for a resource to stay up-to-date with what’s happening around the world. We have seen a lot of other podcasts that cover news dive deep into one story with an investigative approach. But Up First is for those listeners that want their news stories quick and straight to the point.
If you’re looking to just stay updated on what’s happening in the world around you, I definitely recommend giving Up First a listen!
