In Pod Save America, four former aides to President Obama—Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer and Tommy Vietor—are joined by journalists, politicians, activists, and more for a no-b******t conversation about politics. They cut through the noise to break down the week’s news, and help people figure out what matters and how they can help.
As exasperating as American politics can be, Pod Save America is honestly refreshing to listen to a podcast that lays it all on the line in a no-bullshit way.
The show is hosted by former Obama aides Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer and Tommy Vietor-- so you know they’re credible about the subject matter. And despite their education and impressive background, they break things down on the airwaves in a form that is consumable for even those of use who have never spent time in the White House. They definitely offer their opinions, and they definitely have opinions! But they share their political opinions in ways that seem to provide value to listeners-- they cut through all the noise rather than yelling over top of it. While they’re not above a low brow joke or two, as the show has grown they’ve gotten better at connecting big issue policies to human consequences. And they’re regularly joined by other credible sources that can add to the conversation like journalists, activists, politicians and even entertainers.
With the current political landscape, sources like Pod Save America are more important than ever-- and amazingly the guys manage the chat through current politics news and happenings in a way that is even entertaining. Who knew it was possible at this point! They always have solid insights and balance partisan politics with giving credit where credit is (rarely) due.
