My Favorite Murder

If there’s one podcast category it can be hard to stand out in-- it’s true crime. The podcast landscape is saturated with true crime podcasts from everyone and their uncle-- so how do you stand out? Be everyone’s favourite agony aunt. My Favorite Murder puts a feminine (and sometimes feminist) twist on the thing you never knew needed it-- true crime. Karen and Georgia mix stories of true crime and murder with their own unique brand of sass, positivity and wit.

What I love about the podcast is that it doesn’t try too hard to be perfect. It’s not overly edited and Karen and Georgia emote, stumble, divulge and get sidetracked just like with any normal conversation. They don’t BS, they let listeners into their lives and at times it can feel almost as much like a self-help podcast as it is a true crime show.

My Favorite Murder’s unique brand of pairing serious moments and topics with more light-hearted discussion and outlook make it appealing no matter what mood you’re in. To me, My Favorite Murder is proof of the wit and class you can inject into anything with a bit of a feminine touch. Karen and Georgia managed to spark a cult following by simply laying it all on the line, being themselves and committing to lifting other women up-- and of course by dissecting all their favourite murders-- until they get distracted that is.
