Each episode needed to provide insightful, expert knowledge while telling a moving story
The Heart & Stroke Foundation approached Quill with the need to create an original podcast to provide education and awareness to patients, their families, and other stakeholders.
They wanted to create a piece of content that would resonate with anyone who had experienced heart disease or stroke in their lives, or who had a close family member who had, and it was decided that podcasts were an effective medium to achieve this.
Blending expert advice from leading physicians and real patient stories, the podcast needed to educate and inform, while making use of emotive storytelling to connect with their audience. Each episode needed to provide insightful, expert knowledge while telling a moving story about how heart disease and stroke affect people every day.
We created The Beat podcast: a narrative, interview-style podcast that would feature the voices of leading physicians and researchers as well as real patient stories. Each episode combined sound bites from the expert voices and patients, as well as intermittent narration from the podcast’s host, Caroline Lavallée.
Quill provided full-service podcast production including creative concepting, scripting, recording, editing, and post-production. The results have so far demonstrate the show’s success, and The Beat is now onto its second season.
